Imagine war. What do you picture it to look like? Have you ever been involved in one – or is your idea based on the media you consume? There are countless representations of war; Some strive for authenticity, some were produced for entertainment. Others aim to deceive.

WARAGI tests our image of war by exploring the history of Uganda, a country born from colonialism, growing up in conflicts. Most violence has ceased, but the disunion and ongoing power struggles seem deeply rooted. In the western slums of Kampala, a cannibalized helicopter leads to a group of people offering another impression: peace by explosions.
